Back in the ladn of the living, but feeling dead
Posted by tmz_99 on November 11th, 2005 filed in UncategorizedWell, back in Perth, there is just so much to say that I will give up and not say it all. Least one of you get down to the bottom, figure out the nonsensity of it all and take your own lives. Instead I offer an abridged version of what is happening.. 🙂
On the rest of being in Bali:
I went clubbing, a LOT however not in Kuda, rather stayed in Semenyak and went to the Santa Fe a lot (every night), club 66 and Deja Vu. I highly recommend all these clubs. The dancing is wild and people amazing. Theres something to be said for a tourist hotspot when everyone is just there to live out their last few days before coming back to the percieved mediocrity that is their lives.
The shopping was superb and I came back with 4 shirts, 2 pairs of pants, 6 pairs of socks, 2 items (a lamp and a throw-thing) with which to decorate my house so when people come over and comment I can say “Oh, just something I picked up on my travels” while wearing a tweed jacket and smoking nonchelantly from my pipe.
Some CD’s, a Diana Krall DVD (w00t!) and a whole bunch of memories.
I hung out with Hennie pretty much the whole time, parting was such sweet sorrow. However I hope I had learn’t something from all this, something about life, about culutre, about interpersonal relations, about another human being maybe. I like to think that encounters such as these leave both people richer for having had them.
On The Flight Home:
Somebody told me that it was not advisable to buy at the DF in Bali, in fact, the Duty Free in bali is pretty damn huge and offers some nice additions. As it is I picked up the following bottles (from Perth) to add to my collection:
Jonny Walker Gold, Canadian Club 20 y.o, Belvedare Vodka (it’s Polish and I get a bit sick of overwhealming myself with whiskey).
The flight itself was overly long mainly due to lack of any TV after the new Herbie movie and my inability to sleep.
Things At Home:
I got to see my awesome sister Jo, back from prawn fishing in the waters north of Australia, I couldn’t be any prouder of her accomplishments and I cried when I hugged her last night 🙂
Today I went to my pre-start meeting for the house and stipulated I wanted a window in my double shower, so I can see who’s in there from my bedroom, I think it’s sexy and classy, although I may have to close the curtains otherwise the neighbours may see more then they bargained for. It also allows for more light in the ensuite. 🙂
I got my twins today!! went to PLE this arvo and picked up 2 x 19″ Acer 8 ms LCDs… as Im typing this on one I’m watching the Dianna Krall DVD on the other.. classic. also picked up a DVD burner as I put my DVD drive into the theatre PC.
(sorry for the fuzzy, getting used to new phone)
