To be evicted by death
Posted by tmz_99 on January 1st, 2006 filed in UncategorizedMovie review: Lethal Eviction
It doesn’t take long to realise that Lethal eviciton won’t win any awards. It’s quite self apparent that the budget on this movie wasn’t huge. In the first 5 minutes we are introduced to a landlord beign murdered followed by a young woman who seems to like stabbing shards of glass into her stomach.
We are soon itroduced to the tennants of this lovely apartment building: a racist old lady, a gorup of sex obsessed overindulgant jocks, a drag queen, a professor and two twin sisters (we are later intoduced to others, but they don’t really matter).
A new landlord takes over the building and soon people start to drop off like flies.
The movie is pretty much your standard fare murder mystery with some inventive ways to die thrown in (well, not as much inventive as varied as the murderer doesn’t utilise the same style twice). The twist(s) in the end are so damn funny the whole movie is worth watching just for these. Jennifer Carpenter’s performance as the twin sisters and the guy who played the father in the Fresh Price of Bel Air are well made and give depth and some credibility to this movie (as well as comic relief at times).
3.5/5
