On the evacuation

So right now I’m sitting in the business centre of the Novatel Langley in Perth working on flying people back to the rig once more. The cylone has headed inland and tomorrow morning sometime some of us essential personnel are going out to assess damage and get the rig going once more before being joined by reinforcements later in the afternoon.

The stay here has been rather awesome. Yesterday my sister Jo came to see me (thanks babe! I appreciate the company!:)). My food is paid for and last night myself and Angela went out with a whole bunch of oil rig people. The night was somewhat messy and testament that against popular opinion some rig guys just can not handle their booze at all. However, at the end of the night an awesome time was had by all and there was an impromptu break dancing competition at the Aberdeen. If we stay here an extra day I’ll attend capoeira tomorrow afternoon (everything is weather dependant, and the weather is somewhat unpredictable).

Sometime today I’m looking forward to going into the Novatel jacuzzi, it’s located on the top floor with awesome city and harbour views.
It has become clear to me that maybe I need a girlfriend, altho I will not really look into this possibility seriously until sometime after I come back from Japan late in the year.
