FF7: Advent Children

I watched Secret Window yesterday, but the movie left me with such a feeling of self loathing for watching such a piece of crap that I steadfastily refuse to review it. The only saving grace was Jonny Depp’s acting at the end, where he goes around acting like a psychopathic corn farmer. The movie was predictable to the point where it was leaving me with a feeling of deja vu – didn’t I or one of my classmates write a story like this in primary school? Stephen King’s works are sporadic at best when it comes to movies and this is one that I’m happy to recommend avoiding.

Since my recovery from the lucidy that was sleep deprevation things have been settling back to normal here. In fact, just today we recieved out 1st quartely safety bonus. 🙂 They were given to us as coles myer vouchers which I aim to keep until next years post x-mas sale, spending it anytime before then would just be stupidity, that being said I’m not sure if I’ll be home for next years sales.
I’m really getting itchy feet again, I feel that within the next 2 months I should certainly go on holiday, I think my return to NZ has been long overdue and will certainly be the first trip of the year.

Movie Review: Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children

FF7:AC

The scripting and animation in this movie are top notch and on par with such recent noir-anime hits as Appleseed, Ghost in the Shell 2 and the original Final Fantasy.
The movie is a sequel to the original game and requires the viewer to know some backstory, although a flashback takes place at the beginning of the movie it is really hardly an adequate induction to the non-gaming public. However due to the richness of the plot and the time constraints of the movie, a better introduction would have carried too heavily on the production costs and mayhaps even the storyline.
The outstanding charachteristic of this movie has to be the action sequences, the animation is fluid and engaging and you get to see classics such as the summon “Bahamut” come “alive”. This is the first movie I’ve reviewed where I feel two scores are needed. 7/10 for F.Fantasy virgins and 8/10 for those of us who have a better idea of what is going on.

Avast me harties!!! Wheres me rum?
