A sporadic post at best.. :)
Posted by tmz_99 on January 24th, 2006 filed in UncategorizedI suppose the problem with being home (or one of them anyway) is maintaiting the blog, Im generally too busy, or too slack to update the site as such here is an attempt at trying to put together what has happened over the last few days.. If I leave anything out I’m sorry but I’m attempting to try to make things concise.
On the weekend: The weekend started off well with Tony’s going away party, somewhere along the night I must have had a bit much to drink as I have very little recolection of about 3-4hrs of the night folllowed by a very good recolection of myself on the leather couch making deposits into my sleeping partner, mr Bucket. This was followed by a fear of going out Saturday less the same thing happen again.. the dangers of not driving *sigh*
On Business: Strangely enough I’ve been running around more or less every day since I got back, I expect this to ebb as of tomorrow for at least a week, no marketing is both my bane and my fortune.
On Movies: I went to see Memoirs of a Geisha, please let me save 2 1/2 hrs of your time. The movie obviously stuck too close to the book (which I haven’t read). It’s lacklustre pace and presentations of the Geishas as a passionate yet dumb sector of society both bored and appaled me.
Today I went to see Fun with Dick and Jane at the drive in 🙂 My first time ever at a drive in, considering it’s 5 minutes from my house it’s somewhat surprising. Galaxy drive in is the sole remaining drive-in within the Perth metro area. The experience was awesome, somewhat marred by the electrical storm and the nagging in the back of my head that the battery would die due to the draw from the car stereo.
(camera phone is not ideal in darkened situations)
On Friends: I’m pretty sure I met some new people at the aforementioned party, and since I have got back have spent some time with Angela, which has proved to be what I expected but is always quality. Nadia, from which quality is always assured and N, from whom what was expected was ment to be somewhat a surprise but wasn’t and overall just made me feel somewhat dirty and dissapointed.

Gee you can tell you’re getting old(ish) when you take PHOTOS at a drive-in instead of being too occupied to. 😉
Galaxy, is that the one near Canning Highway/Albany crossover? If so, only time I’ve been to drive ins a while ago was there.
Memoirs – the book got a bit like that in places but it was quite good. Apparently the geisha who was interviewed was insulted that they were portrayed as prostitutes rather than entertainers.
