Work drinks and back to the rig…

Yesterday we had company organised drinks in town. The whole pub was filled with other employees and I got a beter insight at just how many people are employed by my workplace, and out of them, how many bothered turning up (surprisingly a few faces I knew were missing, must have been late night shopping instead). After one too many pints of guiness we went home. I have to say though, the longer I work for my employer the stronger a feeling of belonging I’m getting. Speaking of which, back to the rig on Monday for maybe a week, then possibly a few days off, depending on where my boss chooses to throw me. I’m thinking of going to Sydney if I have over 4 days off…. 🙂

I tried to sell my car before the paint went down; if I was going to get out of it at any point I was going to get out whilst I still hadn’t put myself in the position to pay the 9k for the paint. However after careful deliberation and some serious prodding from others I’ve decided to keep the cars and complete them as I originally intended. The basecoat will still be black with copious amounts of silver flake – but am unsure on the perl colour, the painter is trying to keep me away from green (my 1st choice) as he thinks green makes the car look more dirty.. time shall tell, won’t be another 2 months before my colour selection has to be concrete.

I managed to break the diff mounts and blow two gaskets on the daily driver 🙂 Too much boost and too much sideways action I think; but overall a cheap repair and more then worth the satisfaction.

Tomorrow I’m going to eat seafood for lunch, followed by watching the dockers vs eagles game, I’m not really into footy, in fact, I don’t really understand it and aren’t too sure I want to, but everyone including HB Snow are making a huge deal out of it so I’d better conform – either way it beats having to plan something really exciting for the afternoon.
