Karratha Yonder!! :P
Posted by tmz_99 on May 30th, 2006 filed in UncategorizedIm slowly packing for Karratha tomorrow, being the slack arse that I am, it’s taking a while and Im doing it while doing 20 other things and slowly sipping on my Blonde and listening to Jack Johnson. I’m not entirely sure how long I’ll be gone for, but my guess is two weeks, but then again, it would be unsurprising to find that it’s 1 or 3, hopefully I’ll find out soon enough, maybe the car hire place knows?? 🙂
I managed to finish two games this time home (wordpress needs a spell checker, it’d be a major help). The first being Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams. I got this game from the vidfeo ezy and after finding it was 2 DVDs long (can’t be ripped and played from the PS2’s HDD), and that I actually enjoyed it – went out and bought it. Overall, the game has great graphics, but, it’s sooooo long. Fuck, everytime you fight a major boss, you know he’ll be all “muahaha, you may have won the battle but I’ll get you yet” and you go on to face him in another 2hrs of gameplay. Even when they very obviously die, they come back. So basically, the storyline was stretched out to all buggery and the game got overly repetitious. A shame after the last game in the series proved so good. 3/5
I spent a large amount of my youth reading comics, 2000AD was always a treat, it’s stories seeming more ‘mature’ and with great charachters such as Judge Dredd, Pineapple and the Rougue Trooper it had plenty of variety to it’s storyline. For the unititiated the blue guy above is Rogue Trooper, basically blue because he’s genetically modified to work in a harsh climate. Why they went to all the trouble of designing the perfect soldier and then didn’t bother fixing his skin colour is beyond me. Anyway, the game mechanic is brilliantly played out. More weapons and just MORE of EVERYTHING would have been good. Unlike Onimusha which took me 2 weeks to finish I managed to knock Rogue Trooper over in 1 1/2 days of semi-serious playing.
The storyline could have used more fleshing out, but it was enjoyable, even the vehicle sequences were well played out and interesting. 3.5/5
Went to see the house today, all the walls are whitewalled now (badly – I’m not paying for that sub-standard crap) and the windows are in; the whole house seems a lot more spacious now. Even the cabinetwork was all there today (albeit not yet mounted or anything) which goes to show how quickly it’s all progressing. By the time I get back I suppose they’ll have started tiling.
