A weekend project…
Posted by tmz_99 on July 23rd, 2006 filed in UncategorizedDon’t you hate it when your browser crashes just before you’re about to his “post”?? It’s somewhat of a bane on my existance… Anyway.. 🙂 Today being Sunday, the end of the weekend was drawing near and being that I have been playing it very low key due to a staggering amount of bills I haven’t really been out and was looking forward to a brilliant lunch and beers with a good friend who chose not to show or call… so after a 3 hr wait I decided to salvage what was rest of my day and do a small project…
Note the moth stuck in the tacho, it was my primary reason for beggining on this particular project, that and sprucing up the dated black-plastic early-90’s ever so brittle look.
A little later and BEHOLD!!! the guage cluster is rather convincingly silver, and the only hiccup was me breaking the afore mentioned brittle plastic in a most unfortunate spot, the speedo.. Now, I’m generally not too fussed at how fast I’m travelling, but until I get my lisence it’s probably best I keep my speed low-key. I did replace it with a spare I had lying around in a Starion guage cluster, but as you can see, it’s clear….. I shall have to go back in sometime and re-paint them both (maybe to blue) when I also change the back-light on the guages.
Ant this is last weeks project, here you can see the indicator damaged in my fall.. 🙁
And new cat-eye indicators!! May they last another 16 years 🙂 Tomorrow I think the bike needs a good wash.. 🙂 I ended up ordering those grip-warmers, although I was a tad intoxicated and talking to some american bird (in america no less) so hopefully they will get here ok in 2-3 weeks time…. and something else is planned for Monday week, but I’ll get to that when the time comes.. 🙂

Not a completely wasted day then. Indicators look alright. Bit better than the droopy one you had previously.
