Another First

Well, back at work, which is cool. For a few days now really, and as usual nothing much has been happening that allows me to post on a daily basis.

However today was a first, we are at the Stag location, a platform that has been in the one spot for maybe 10-15 years now, maybe longer.
This has  caused it  to more or less become an artificial reef, teeming with sealife. This eavening I  saw maybe  30-40 sharks, gray nurses and hammerheads mostly, but it was quite the eclectic collection of the fearsome predators. They were swimming quite happily with giant schools of fish, tons upon tons of different fish which also didn’t have a care in the world. Sometimes they would give the sharks a respectful metre of so of distance (swimming all around them), sometimes they would swim right up the sharks’ arse. None of this resulted in any conflict at all. Then maybe 30 dolphins came along, different schools arrived from different areas on the horizon, and as the sun set over the orange waters they jumped, swam upside down and did their dolphin like things.
Earlier today I saw a tortoise, but it wasn’t around by this time.
This has been the single biggest display of ocean life I have seen outside of the aquarium. Absolutely amazing.

Also, a 3rd party hand gave presents to everyone, he had made butterflies out of wood, using chicken feathers for the wings which he had dyed and painted.
There’s not many a present better then one that is hand made. I still have a hand-made pencil from Nadia’s grandad and a frame of a starion that my sister made for me many years ago. A lot of soul goes into hand made products, especially when they are given away as gifts as opposed to sold.
