Game Review: Vampire the Masquarade : Bloodlines

I got Vampire the Masquarade : Bloodlines last time home as a game to play on the laptop in my spare moments.
Since then it has certainly become somewhat of a daily ritual to play it for an hour after dinner and before going to the gym. 🙂

The game takes place in Los Angeles, where you start as a fledgling vampire, based upon the clan you pick before the beggining of the game you have certain powers and abilities. Throughout the game you get points for completing quests, which you can allocate torwards different skills, it’s possible to make yourself into whatever you percieve yourself to be, a suave seductress, a hacker or a all out brawler, the choice is really up to you.
The graphics are top notch and the puzzles / dialogue are multi branching, with many solutions avaiable to you at any point, based upon which solution you pick, different story archs open up. The atmosphere of the game is also immersive, between the neo-gothic architecture, reasonable graphics (apperantly based on the same engine as HL2, but obviously an earlier build) and brilliant use of music and sound effects this has to be one of the best examples of a 1st person adventure game I have ever played. The only dissapointment would be the ‘flat’ appearance of some objects, but seeining as the game isn’t new and it would have slowed down older systems, it’s really not a huge issue; it certainly doesn’t detract from the rest of the game.
4.7/5

Other than that the weekend is going good, Im well ahead with what I have to do at the moment and can enjoy a lazy-ish Saturday. I’ve spent a bit of time reading haikus. Life in general, is great. I’ve been doing a few late nights the last few days, so this is a reprive well deserved I think.

I also ordered my Roomba today! I can’t wait to get home to play with my new robotic friend 🙂 (and say goodbye to vaccuming)

You lazy bugger! They must be paying you too much.

    FYI –
Yeah, you still have to wear condoms when you’re having sex with a dead person, otherwise she might give birth to ZOMBIES, who will CONQUER THE WORLD. And that’s never a good thing. That’s why necrophilia is outlawed
