Back at work…

Got back to work today, managed to bite my tongue on the plane when chewing gum, added to the fact Im really tired I must sound like Im drunk.

The last few days at home were pretty hectic. I finally got some paving delivered and the painting had started. So this had neccesitated ripping up the back patio and hand-carting all the bricks to the front of the house, as well as constant cleaning of the interior due to the plaster dust that seems to get in everywhere.

I went out to Joondelup on Friday night to check out what’s local with Angela, Rachel, Matt, Shannan and Jeevin, all in all it seems like an alright place to go. It only has 3 clubs, but a good time was had by all, and we didn’t really leave the Maxx. Saturday I took Julia to Hillaries for the fireworks, we went up on the giant rock wall next to Aqua, not only did we have an awesome view, but there wasn’t such a crowd as in the main area. Afterwards Matt came over to mine and we had a few beers and played a bit of Gears of War.

Sunday I went to Barbagellos to watch Adrian and Mal race, for their 1st time @ Barbagellos Adrian came 1st in his class and Mal 2nd by a 100th of a second, not a bad effort….. 🙂 Saw a rather large crash with an immaculate RS Cosworth Sierra ran into a tree, a fence and over a blackboy – the damage thankfully was superficial even though the car almost rolled and no one got hurt. Then mum came over for dinner and afterwards went to Pamelas to play some poker where I promptly lost $20 (going into the eagles memrobilia fund I’m  sure).

Talking of games, I managed to clock both Need for Speed Carbon AND Gears of War in my final week home. NFS:Carbon is really more of the same tired old formula as the other NFS games, this certainly doesn’t make it bad, but it doesn’t make innovative. Gears of War is simply the most stunning console game I have ever played. Apart from an awesome storyline, the gameplay is top-notch giving one the feeling of really being in a combat zone (but then again, having never really been in one, I’m only making assumptions).
