Back and gone..

Yeah, so I’ve been back for 7-8 days or so and I’m off again tomorrow. During that time there have been some significant events and a lot of corona drinking.
Last night I got a carton of Corona however to my dismay I found I had NO lemons and NO lime at home.
Time to experiment!

Corona and Grapefruit:
Overall this is the one we expect to be most familiar to the lemon and lime due to it being a sour-type citrus. However the overall taste was bland and a bit cardboard. Some of our taste testers thought that it wasn’t too bad. But overall an uninspired mix.

Corona and Plum:
The plum had the effect of instant head. Although I do love a lot of head, one would hope it comes from something other then my beer. The taste of the plum did not influence the beer what so ever. The plums rose and fell continuously in the bottle, a nice effect but not really enough to give it a whole extra point on.

Corona and Grape:
We cut the grapes in 1/2 hoping for a better taste distribution. Like the plum, the grape resulted in head (although not as much) however, also like the plum the taste did not at all influence the beer. Bad grape!

Corona and Passion Fruit Jelly:
The jelly was the surprise of the lot. For once, there was no head. We did have to drink a little of the beer to allow space for the jelly and soon found that it gave the beer a nice fruity flavor. The color complimented the beer so it wasn’t immediately obvious we were drinking jelly with the Corona and the residual jelly at the end of the bottle was a refreshing and still alcoholic surprise.

Had the bike overhauled with a service today, new chain, sprockets, brakes, steering bearing adjustment. Runs soo much better, still a few more problems to be taken care of before it’s up to the fit NOS/repaint the faring stage – mainly an oil leak out of the crank case (will have to get a new unit) and a crack in the exhaust, other than that there’s only a few minor problems (yeah, they didn’t get all the cracks last time round.. brilliant).

So back to work tomorrow at 7am. 🙂 New position, new challenges and a chance to look after myself for 3 1/2 weeks. 🙂

Went to see 300 with Jo and Jules for Jules’ birthday. A good storyline, pretty visuals and nice amount of gore. Some sections felt very god-of-war-ish. I do wonder who copied who in that respect. Overall a good movie, but maybe not quite a classic.
