Another day, another movie review
Posted by tmz_99 on April 30th, 2007 filed in UncategorizedI’ve been a bit caught up watching Scrubs in my spare time recently (I managed to get the whole of series 1-5, so have started watching it from the start). It’s a show with good production values and one of the few that will make me laugh out loud when Im sober. My friend the mean green Gene machine who works here has also been lucky enough to catch an episode or two.
Yesterday I decided to watch another movie (I have quite a few to catch up on – so expect a few of these in the near future). The problem with watching movies is that I am on somewhat of a time constraint. My post-work schedule goes something a little like this:
6PM – Knock off work
6:15 – Eat dinner
6:16-7pm – Let dinner settle in my stomach (usually watch an episode of Scrubs :)).
7-8:30 – Gym
8:30-10pm – Watch movie, then sleep
5am – Wake up
I do like to get my 7 hours of sleep a night, and with me the problem is that all the best ideas that come into my mind appear there between the hours of 10pm – whenever I fall asleep. I really should have a tape recorder or something, it’s amusing to see how enthused I get about everything BUT sleep when I so sorely need it.
The other problem is that Im constantly looking at the clock – trying to make sure a movie doesn’t take too long, this somewhat detracts from the enjoyment.
Movie Review: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
KKBB is an upbeat thriller/mild action movie with Robert Downey Jr playing the main role with support from Val Kilmer and Michelle Monaghan. To be honest I’ve never been a big fan of RDJ, but as time has gone on he has somewhat grown on me, thankfully there’s a cream for that sort of thing available over the counter from the chemist – Roberstein, and one application is all it takes.
The movie is great although it’s not one that’ll stick in the mind for a long time or stimulate any great thoughts. A charming hollywood flick that tries to be a little left of mainstream.
The narration of the movie by RDJ and his constant breaking of the 4th wall is a pretty cool touch. 7/10
