Im such a consumerist whore

I’m quite aware that my tastes, my insatiable need to constantly immerse myself with commercial goods is very much a result of my upbringing, suckling on the euphoric teat of advertising.
I’m very much aware that as much as people and experiences make me happy the drive for newer and better products not only provides me with ambition, the satisfaction of achieving those goals but also with a genuine pleasure of ownership.
So this brings me to the point that being aware of traits that are forged in me by exterior influences I tend to try to find my individualism by rebelling against the norm, I like to think that by non-conformity that it somehow makes me, me.
Now if I don’t like something just because I refuse to conform does that mean I really do like it or?????.. I was watching the new Harry Potter movie (not so new now) – Order of the Phoenix and I really don’t like it. However, I feel I SHOULD like it, purely that everyone else seems to love the potter series.
So do I really not like it? Am I just rebelling against the norm? Or is the movie really crap?…

It’s really crap.

you should make a poll, who likes and who doesn’t.. well, my point is how do you know if many people like/ love it?

p.s Never really liked those kind of movies..

And with being a rebel, aren’t you generalasing here a bit? I mean majority of Holliwood movies are made for the crowd anyway, who is happy to do normal routine “home – work – eating – sex ” thingy – pure representation of the first stage of Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs , basics. There is nothing wrong with it..but the thought of the possibility that ‘m I or m I not’ is a good sign of recognising of the outer world. All IMHO.
