Iron Chef and An Otherwise Crap Day
Posted by tmz_99 on June 7th, 2005 filed in Reviews, WorkToday has been one of those days..:P Not only were there lots of last minute changes, etc. But as sometimes happens I’ve been left out of the loop on too many things, basically making it impossible for me to do my job. I realise people have got their own jobs to get on with, but I really need to be in on the loop.. Anyways, crap day, felt unappreciated. [/whinge]
There is not Thai word for the day, I’ve been revising the Thai I know already, so maybe tomorrow, I also have a great idea for a new article, but will need the help of all you people with a second language. 🙂 more on that tomorrow.:) 🙂
Today’s main topic is a great man.
There he is, eating a bellpepper!
For those of you who don’t instantly recognise this man, he is Chairman Kaga, he is the president of the culinary institute in Japan, he is also the host of the hugely popular (and sadly no longer running) Iron Chef series.
Being a huge fan of food (as I’m sure most of you are) I was drawn to this show becasue it really showcased some of the best cuisine in the world, and oftentimes it came up with completely new recepies. It was later ripped off by an American producer and spawned a copy-cat series over there with none of the heart of the original. Plans are in the works for a few of us to get together and make Iron BBQ Chef, Australian Edition. Just a 1-off, more a piss-take then anything else but only becaue the original is so great.. 🙂
That’s it for today! 🙂 No great pearls of wisdom rather then, if you love food, do yourself a favour and go watch an iron chef episode with one of your favourite ingredients! You can not imagine! haha! 🙂
(nearly 1/2 way till home) 😐

Thanks for dropping by my site and leaving your comments.
I’m a foodie – love Thai food and cook a mean Thai curry, if I do say so myself. I lived in Thailand for 2 1/2 years altogether. Can’t speak the language anymore, but was not entirely a disgrace at the time.
Drop by again 🙂 Kris

Yes, that is the bottom line, but in order to get it across to those who are less open to the idea, the argument for it must be well articulated if we ever want it to become a reality.
