Yet another dream

Well, another day another morning another dream..
Last night I drempt that the world was besieged by vampires every year at a certain time, the only way to stay safe was to stand within runed out areas, however not only did you have to stay safe, the attack had to be prevented, least you just die of starvation.
The runed out areas could be as big as you wanted, but for some reason it wasn’t logical to just leave them there all year. That and the attacks started small, with only a few vampires in the first one, and only my family being aware.
As time went on (I experienced 3 years within my dream) the attacks were bigger, in the last and final onslaught the battle was faught in a sky scraper. There was our team, and a team of local higly trained police or something, and fire was ready to rain from the skies (not asteroids, liquid fire, I suppose more like magma, but without the rock component).
As we were preparing to go shield ourselves (strangely enough by holding blankets up to the windows) we chose to call out to this other team, to save them, we gave them 10 seconds to all get in, then we closed the door, two remained outside. The skies started turning orange at a rapid rate and the captain of the cops opened the door to call his men in, against my protests, one came back, I managed to close the door as soon as he stepped in, the remaining man throwing a dye marker at the door before the fire consumed him. I turned around and shot the captain, this was no time for galantry or disobeying my orders, this was an apocylyptic battle.
